The French multinational vehicle manufacturer, Renault has come a long way to manufacture cars that are considered not only reliable, but that also exude class and sophistication. The third largest car manufacturer in Europe now focuses only on consumer automobile production, leaving behind their past dealings in heavy vehicles.
One of the best selling Renault cars is the Renault Duster. Introduced in European markets as the Dacia Duster, the Renault Duster conquered the Indian auto scene with its butch looks, better ride and handling, good fuel efficiency and ground clearance. Until then, the SUV segment was ruled by either the Safari or the Scorpio. Duster offered roof rails and bigger tyres, which further enhanced the SUV appeal.
Another best-selling car from the stables of Renault is the Renault Dacia Dokker. This leisure activity vehicle was introduced in India in the multipurpose vehicle segment. This flexible five seater lives up to its name that conveys the meaning of a high carrying capacity model. Both the passenger version and panel van version presents a unique design with a well-built framework and spacious luxurious interiors.
Although the Duster was doing well, the other cars like Koleos and Fluence found it difficult to catch up with its competitors. The French carmaker then decided to introduce new versions of these two cars into the Indian market at a time when the auto-market was going into a slump. The re-launched midsize Sedan, Fluence, and its SUV, Koleos, are now the best selling cars from the house of Renault.
The new variant of Fluence has a more aggressive and bold front with a single slat grille and bigger logo. Though the interiors remain same, the front bumpers have been changed to accommodate larger fog lamps.
Though the increasing fuel prices have resulted in a decrease in the demand for SUVs in India, there are off-roaders who continue to generate buyer interest. The new and refurbished Renault Koleos has garnered a lot of interest among the consumers. Koleos is definitely a step above the uncomfortable interiors of the other butch SUVs. Though the Rs.25 lakh price tag is a bit expensive, there are many consumers who tend to move towards the car hoodwinking the likes of the Fortuner or the Santa Fe.
The French automaker has definitely made its presence in the Indian markets with these best selling cars. For new cars & bikes log on to Autoportal.com & Bikepotal.in
